Virgin Falls State Natural Area
Virgin Falls is located in White County, Tennessee, and is adjacent to Bridgestone/Firestone Centennial Wilderness.
The 1,133-acre natural area is features an underground stream that emerges from a cave, then drops over a 110-foot high cliff before it disappears again in another cave. There are also other falls and caves in the area.
The Caney Fork River runs through the area, as well, creating a gorge that provides sweeping views of Scott's Gulf.

From Oak Ridge/Knoxville, take I-40 to exit 322 / Peavine Road. Turn left and then at US 70 turn right.
Continue on US 70 until you reach the small community of DeRossett, 11 miles east of Sparta. Turn left on Eastland Road and go six miles to Scott's Gulf Road.
At the sign for Bridgestone/Firestone Centennial Wilderness, turn right on Scott's Gulf Road. Continue two miles to the parking area and trailhead, which will be on the right.
