Black Mountain
Black Mountain provides outstanding opportunities for hiking, rappelling, climbing and caving. The area is part of Cumberland Trail State Park, which will eventually be a 300+ mile hiking trail from the Chattanooga area to Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. Directions:
Take I-40 west to Exit 329 (Crab Orchard). Follow Battown Road south. Turn left at the Cumberland Trail State Park sign and proceed 3 miles up the narrow and steep paved Black Mountain Road to a the paved trailhead parking area on the right.
